The Villages Travel and Tour with Sumter Landing Bicycle Club is excited to bring cyclists this fun, overnight trip to participate in The Endless Summer Watermelon Ride.

The Endless Summer Watermelon Ride is a classic one-day bicycle event designed for all road cyclists. Enjoy a bike ride on the scenic Amelia Island through historic, tree lined Fernandina Beach, along the ocean and south to the Talbot Island State Parks. Take your pick of five routes: 19, 30, 55, 75, and 101 miles. *Sign up on your own ASAP* We will be staying overnight at The Residence Inn by Marriott Amelia Island. The hotel amenities include a pool, hot tub, putting green, fire pit, high speed internet, free breakfast, a kitchenette in each room and a fitness center. The hotel is only two blocks from the beach and a short distance from the attractions of downtown Amelia Island.


September 7:

8:45 am- Check in at The Villages Travel and Tour (761 Hoopfer Way) *We are using A & P Cycling Tours bus*

9:15 am- Depart

Depart 11:15 am- Lunch break on the way (lunch purchase on your own)

12:45 pm- Approximate arrival in Fernandina Beach - we will go straight to packet pick up at the Fernandina Beach Recreation Center. Afterwards, we will check in to hotel. (All rooms are studio suites with a King size bed and a sleeper sofa)

Evening on your own. Suggestions will be given.

September 8:

7:30 am- Ride begins (starting point is 2.6 miles from the hotel)

5:00 pm- Depart for The Villages

8:30 pm- Approximate arrival back in The Villages

$209, per person, Double Occupancy

$295 per person, Single Occupancy

Price includes transportation (we transport your bike for you), accommodations, and bottled water.
